The early steps in formation of quality assurance system in ANAU were taken in 2009 when a quality control and assurance committee was initiated on Rector’s decree. The functions of the committee consisted in organization of lecture auditions and in checking divisions.
In 2011 Department of Educational Reforms, Strategic Planning, Quality Control and Self Assessment with its two subdivisions was established, besides the committee of quality control and assurance was modified into the Quality Control Board and Committee. Faculty groups initiated on Rector’s decree are also included in the quality assurance system which are also responsible for the quality assurance.
In 2011-2012 academic years the subdivision of Quality Control and Self-analysing of ERSPQCA administration has organized and accomplished an institutional self-study upon 5 year time-period according to the principles and standards stated by ANQA. The results have been presented to ANQA and have been reported in the ANAU scientific board (protocol 3, 12.10.2012).
In the result of structural changes in 2016 “Department of Educational Reforms, Strategic Planning, Quality Control and Self Assessment” was renamed as “Department of Educational Reforms, Strategic Planning and Innovation Technologies”.

At present the subdivision of Quality Control and Self Assessment carries out monitoring, develops new regulations and conducts workshops.
