Part - Time Study is one of the ways for preparing specialists for agricultural field.

Yet in 1932 a part-time institute, that trained specialists in the field of animal husbandry, was founded in Yerevan Zoo Veterinary Institute and lecturer A.Malkov was appointed as the first director. Part time study was founded in AAI in 1932. First, it was named Agricultural Correspondence Institute, which was headed by H. Tumanyan. In 1994 after the two universities were unified the part time faculty was established, professor A.P.Tarverdyan was appointed in the position of dean.
In 1997 faculty was renamed as Department of Part Time Study, with the status of vice rector professor A.Tarverdyan was appointed as head of department. 1998-2015 E.S. Kosemyan was the head of the department. 2015-2019 head of the department was D.P.Petrosyan. First specialists were trained only for a few specialties. Year by year amount of specialties grew and now specialists are prepared in the direction of 26specialties: 6 - aerobiological, 7 – food technology, 8- economics of agrifood system, 5- engineering of agrarian system.

Technologies that will allow learners take their courses from anywhere and without time limitations should be invested in part time study system. This will help to save time and to have consultations with lecturers when needed

Objectives of Part-Time Study

To satisfy educational needs for those who are not able to study in full-time terms, to enhance the field of educational services, to provide educational services for the residents of different regions, to improve technological conditions for learners.
